An Aimpoint Acro on the HK Mark 23
· First published on GunCuts.com
Call it the MK 23, the MK 23 MOD 0, the Mark 23 or the USSOCOM Mark 23: Heckler & Koch's pistol is huge, and a huge pistol can carry a huge optic. We cut Mark 23 slides for the RMR footprint, which is a good way to bring one up to date. But an Aimpoint Acro on a Mark 23 looks like the two were designed together. Few pairings look that right.

RMR footprint vs. dovetail
A standard footprint such as the Trijicon RMR means we mill into the pocket that holds the safety plunger, and modify the plunger. That works fine, but from then on the pistol needs the optic, or a cover plate, on the slide to run properly.
The Acro mounts on a dovetail, so we can cut for it and leave the safety plunger alone. If modifying the plunger bothers you, that's the cut to get.
Other dovetail optics we like on the Mark 23: Swampfox Kraken, Holosun 509T, Steiner MPS.

Slides, barrels and parts kits, all matched to the pistol they fit.
